KNIGHTS IN THE RING INITIATIVES

LOCF answers the global problem of at-risk youth not having ACCESS to after-school activities and summer enrichment programs for safety and learning by delivering comprehensively designed, awe-inspiring, FREE summer boxing INTENSIVE camps that are structured, engaging and in a setting of supervised, disciplined fun.

Dismissal time on school days, between the hours of 3pm – 7pm is the prime-time juvenile crime occurs, when at risk youths have neither constructive activity nor adult supervision. During these times, at-risk youth are more likely to be participants in violent crimes or become victims themselves of violent crimes and other dangers (Newman, Fox, Flyn, & Christeson 2000).

SUMMER CAMP

How children and youth spend their leisure time plays a key role in their behavioral learning process. Leisure is essential to a child’s well-being and affects their developmental trajectory in dealing with social relationships.

LOCF Boxing Camps

Supervised directly by Mr. Lennox Lewis, LOCF Boxing camps offer intensive development in boxing and life skills to develop the "Next Generation of Champions".

Nutrition and Physical Health

This program provides education on making healthier eating choices and understanding the consequences of food choices. Along with supplying nutrition outreach seminars to the community, healthy, cooked meals and fresh in season fruit are always the “snacks” available at our program settings.

Character and Lifeskills Development

The mentoring and character-building program is for youth ages 9-17.

Career Exploration

Knights in the Ring will use the World of Boxing and Tourism to help guide the participants through this career exploration program.

Academic Preparedness

The homework labs will be held after-school and on weekends and will focus on the academic core subjects that students need to master for high school graduation and to move on to university if they choose.
